Burns
Burns are injuries to the skin and underlying tissue, often caused by heat, electricity, chemicals, friction, or radiation. They are painful, can be difficult to treat, and may lead to long-term complications such as scarring, tissue death, and infection. Burns can be classified according to severity—minor, moderate, or severe—and require immediate medical attention. Treatment includes wound care, fluids, antibiotics, and, in severe cases, skin grafting. Early and appropriate treatment can reduce the risk of long-term complications and may help promote healing.
