Mental Health Personality Disorders
Personality disorders are mental health illnesses that affect how a person thinks, behaves and interacts with others. They cause people to have long-term patterns of difficult feelings, thoughts and behaviour which are different from usual social expectations. Symptoms of personality disorders can range from mild to severe and may severely disrupt a person's life. They usually first appear during adolescence or early adulthood and may require life-long treatment and support. Treatment options include psychotherapy, medication and lifestyle changes which can help reduce symptoms, improve relationships and overall quality of life.
