Manic Depression
Manic Depression is a mental disorder known as bipolar disorder that causes extreme mood swings, ranging from episodes of energetic highs (manic episodes) to episodes of extreme sadness (depressive episodes). It often occurs with periods of normal mood between episodes. It is a major cause of disability and is treatable with medications, psychotherapy, and lifestyle modifications.
