Dysthymia

Dysthymia is a form of chronic, low-grade depression that can affect adults, teens and children. Symptoms of dysthymia, such as persistent sadness and low motivation, can have a significant impact on daily functioning and can last for years on end. Treatment for dysthymia usually involves a combination of psychotherapy, medication, and lifestyle changes, such as getting regular exercise and eating a healthy diet. With proper treatment, patients may reduce their symptoms and lead a more productive, fulfilling and happy life.
