Depressive Symptoms

Depressive symptoms are a group of psychological and physical signs that indicate that a person is experiencing depression. These include feeling low in mood, having difficulty concentrating, loss of interest in everyday activities, disturbed sleep, changes in appetite, low self-esteem and feeling worthless, lack of energy, and suicidal thoughts. Depressive symptoms can significantly impair a person’s ability to work and participate in social activities. The good news is that there are treatments available that can help reduce the severity of these symptoms and improve quality of life. With the right help, people with depression can regain control over their lives and find hope.
