Depressive Disorder
Depressive disorder, sometimes referred to as clinical depression or major depressive disorder, is a medical condition that affects how people feel, think, and behave. It is characterized by intense feelings of sadness, emptiness, hopelessness, worthlessness, and guilt that are persistent and disruptive to daily life. Depressive disorder can seriously impair an individual’s ability to function and can lead to other physical and mental health issues. The good news is that depressive disorder is highly treatable and with the right combination of psychotherapy, medication, and lifestyle changes, most people can lead healthy and productive lives.
