Anxiety Sensitivity
Anxiety Sensitivity is a psychological construct that describes the fear of anxiety-related sensations, such as a racing heart or dizziness. It is thought to play a role in the development of anxiety disorders, such as panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as contributing to general distress. Anxiety Sensitivity can be measured through self-report questionnaires, allowing mental health professionals to assess an individual’s vulnerability to anxiety and to develop appropriate treatment plans. By assessing and managing Anxiety Sensitivity, it is possible to reduce symptoms of anxiety and improve overall well-being.
