Dental Implantology

Dental implantology refers to the branch of dentistry that focuses on using surgical and prosthetic techniques to replace missing teeth with artificial teeth or dental implants. Dental implants are an excellent option for people with missing teeth because they provide a natural-looking, long-lasting solution that improves oral function and appearance. Dental implantology involves a meticulous process that begins with a thorough evaluation of a patient's dental health and medical history. This evaluation enables the dentist to determine if dental implants are the best treatment option for the patient. Once the decision is made to proceed with dental implant surgery, the dentist will work with the patient to develop a customized treatment plan. During the implantation process, a small titanium screw is surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as the anchor for the implant. The implant is then left to heal and fuse with the jawbone over the course of several months. During this time, a temporary tooth may be used to fill the gap left by the missing tooth. Once the implant has integrated with the jawbone, a dental crown or bridge is attached to the implant to complete the restoration. This process provides patients with a functional and long-lasting solution that improves their dental health and quality of life. In summary, dental implantology is a specialized field of dentistry that offers advanced treatments for restoring missing teeth. By using dental implants, patients can enjoy natural-looking, permanent solutions that provide excellent oral function and an enhanced appearance.
