Suicidality

Suicidality is a term used to describe thoughts, plans, and behaviors related to suicide. The risk of suicide is the 10th leading cause of death globally, making understanding and addressing suicidality critical to helping prevent death due to suicide. It is strongly connected to mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, and can affect people of all ages, gender, and backgrounds. Professional mental health care and support can help people struggling with suicidality, as well as interventions that promote mental wellbeing and provide a sense of social connectedness. Research has shown that understanding and addressing suicidality is a key factor in preventing the tragedy of suicide.
