Postmortem Changes
Postmortem changes are a variety of changes that occur in the body following death. These changes, which include physical, chemical and biochemical processes, are responsible for the breakdown of tissues and change the appearance and internal structure of the body. These changes have a significant impact on the determination of the time of death and can also be used to evaluate the cause of death in a forensic setting. Additionally, postmortem changes provide valuable information that can assist with the investigation of criminal cases and inform policy decisions regarding public health and safety.
