Fetal Death
Fetal death is the death of a fetus inside a mother’s uterus before it is born. It can occur for a variety of reasons including genetic abnormalities, birth defects, and placental abruption. It is a major cause of loss for families, and has a significant emotional, psychological, and economic impact. Fetal death can be diagnosed through fetal health screenings and other prenatal tests, and can often be prevented with timely prenatal care and management of high-risk pregnancies. The consequences of fetal death can be minimized with early intervention and support for those affected by this tragedy.
