Death with Dignity
Death with dignity is a term describing the legal process of medical aid-in-dying, in which a qualified individual is prescribed a medication to hasten the process of dying. This practice can provide control, autonomy, and dignified death to those individuals diagnosed with a terminal illness and facing more suffering in the near future. The death with dignity movement has gained prominence in recent years, with legislation in many states across the US. Through thoughtful advocacy and outcomes research, death with dignity affords those living with a terminal illness the power to choose their own destiny and die with dignity according to their own wishes.
