Death Studies
Death studies is an interdisciplinary field of research that analyses death-related attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. Its aim is to better understand death as an individual and cultural phenomenon. Death studies helps to uncover social, psychological, and philosophical patterns in how people cope with death, how they make decisions related to death, and how they make sense of their own mortality. It is also used to better understand the impact of death-related issues on individuals, families, and communities. This knowledge can be applied to develop better policies and practices for end-of-life care, bereavement, and suicide prevention.
