Death Pronouncement

Death pronouncement is the official notification of an individual’s death. It is an essential step in the formal process of recognizing and recording an individual’s death, and serves to provide the legal authority to gain access to the deceased’s estate and arrange any necessary funeral or burial services. It is typically issued by a healthcare provider or death registrar, and is certified with the signature of a physician or coroner. Death pronouncement is important as it enables families to gain access to the deceased’s estate and begin the mourning process. It also serves as a legal document that can be used to claim life insurance, pensions, social security benefits and other benefits that the deceased may have been eligible for.
