Death Attitudes
Death attitudes are attitudes that an individual holds towards death. They are generally formed by an individual's personal culture, beliefs, faith, and other life experiences. Death attitudes have been shown to affect an individual's behaviors, thoughts, and reactions to death and dying. Death attitudes affect how an individual grieves and copes with the loss of a loved one. The study of death attitudes can help mental health professionals better understand how individuals cope with death and bereavement and develop personalized treatment plans to help those affected by death. By understanding how individuals view death, professionals may be able to provide better bereavement counseling, improve end-of-life care services, and help individuals prepare for death.
