Asphyxia
Asphyxia is a condition where the body is deprived of oxygen. It is caused by difficulty in breathing, whether from gas or smoke inhalation, choking, immersion in water, or mechanical obstruction of the respiratory passages. Asphyxia can lead to death if not treated immediately, as it can cause brain damage, organ failure, and respiratory arrest. Its significance is that it is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. It can be prevented in many cases by taking proper care of the environment and using protective equipment when working with hazardous materials. Its use includes medical interventions which can help to save lives in cases of asphyxia.
