Yellow Fever Virus
Yellow fever virus is a mosquito-borne disease caused by the flavivirus. It is found in tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas and Africa. Symptoms of yellow fever can include fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, muscle pain, and exhaustion. In severe cases, it can cause jaundice, bleeding, kidney failure, and even death. There is no cure for yellow fever, but it can be prevented through a yellow fever vaccine. This vaccine is recommended for people traveling to areas with yellow fever risk. Treatment is based on the symptoms, and includes rest, fluids, and medications to reduce fever and pain.
