Yellow Fever
Yellow fever is a serious and potentially life-threatening infectious disease that is caused by a virus that is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. It is mostly found in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. Symptoms can range from mild fever, nausea and vomiting to severe symptoms such as jaundice, bleeding and organ failure. The most effective way to prevent yellow fever is vaccination. Although the vaccine has been available for decades, it is still one of the most important vaccines against infectious disease, especially in Africa and South America, where the disease is most prevalent. Vaccination against yellow fever is crucial in helping to limit outbreaks and protect travelers who are at risk of exposure.
