West Nile Virus
West Nile Virus (WNV) is a mosquito-borne virus found in parts of Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the United States. It causes a wide range of clinical illnesses, including fever, headaches, body aches, nausea, vomiting and fatigue. In some cases, it can cause serious neurological complications leading to death. To reduce the risk of infection, people should take measures to reduce their exposure to mosquitoes and be aware of local outbreaks. Vaccines are currently under development, but are not yet available.
