Virus Glycoproteins
Virus glycoproteins are proteins on the surface of viruses that are bound to carbohydrate molecules. They are essential for allowing viruses to attach to and enter host cells. They also play an important role in initiating an immune response, as they provide antigens to the body which are recognized by the host's immune system. Glycoproteins are thus pivotal in mediating the interactions between viruses and their hosts, and are an important target for antiviral therapies.
