Virions
Virions are the infectious form of a virus. They are microscopic particles that contain the virus' genetic material encased in a protein coat. Virions are important for the study of viruses, as studying them allows for a better understanding of how viruses spread and cause disease. Virions can be used to develop treatments for diseases caused by viruses, such as therapies, vaccines, and antiviral drugs. The ability to study virions is essential for the diagnosis and treatment of viral diseases.
