Viral Load
Viral Load refers to the amount of virus present in a biological sample. It is an important measure used to monitor the success of a patient's treatment or progress of a disease. It is typically used to quantify the amount of HIV or other viruses in a person's blood. High viral loads are associated with increased infectiousness and the greater risk of transmitting the virus to others. Low viral loads indicate that the virus is not replicating and likely not infectious. Knowing the viral load can help doctors determine the right course of treatment for their patients.
