Viral Genes
Viral genes are pieces of genetic material that are found in viruses. They contain the information necessary for the viruses to replicate and spread throughout their hosts. Viral genes are important for understanding the biology and pathology of viruses, as well as for developing therapies and vaccines to combat them. They can also be used in gene therapy and gene-editing to modify the genetic makeup of cells, tissues and organisms. Viral genes are thus essential for biomedical research and the development of new treatments for diseases.
