Mmr Vaccine
The MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine is a vaccine used to protect people against serious diseases caused by measles, mumps, and rubella viruses. The MMR vaccine is generally given to children 12 to 15 months of age, with a booster shot given at 4 to 6 years. The vaccine is highly effective in preventing the serious complications of these diseases, including death, meningitis, and encephalitis. The widespread use of the MMR vaccine has significantly reduced the rates of these diseases in the United States, and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends routine MMR vaccination of children as part of a comprehensive immunization strategy. The MMR vaccine is safe, and its benefits far outweigh any potential adverse reactions.
