Helper Viruses

Helper viruses are viruses that assist with the replication of other viruses. These viruses lack the ability to cause disease by themselves, but they can increase the severity of existing infections by facilitating the spread of other dangerous viruses. For example, a helper virus may help a computer virus spread more quickly or may increase the severity of a bacterial infection in humans. Helper viruses increase the rate at which infectious agents are spread, which is why they are a cause for concern and require control. Knowing how helper viruses function is essential for creating effective strategies for controlling and limiting the spread of infections.
