Fever Phobia

Fever phobia, also known as febriphobia, is an irrational fear of fever and its associated symptoms. People with fever phobia are often worried that even mild elevations in body temperature will cause serious health consequences. It can cause distress, as well as interfere with a person's ability to seek medical treatment when it is needed. While not as common as other phobias, fever phobia can have a significant impact on a person's life. Treatment for fever phobia includes cognitive behavioural therapy, desensitisation, relaxation techniques, and education about fever. With appropriate help and support, individuals with fever phobia can learn to manage and overcome their fear.
