Ebola
Virus The Ebola virus is a highly contagious virus that causes severe and fatal disease in humans and other primates. It usually spreads through contact with bodily fluids. This virus was first discovered in 1976 and has since been a major health concern in parts of Africa and Asia. Symptoms usually appear within 2-21 days after initial contact and can include fever, muscle pain, weakness, headache, rash, vomiting, and diarrhea. There is currently no cure for the virus, but treatments can include supportive care and experimental drugs, vaccines, and therapies. Early diagnosis and treatment is key to reduce mortality rates. The Ebola virus has been a major public health concern and continues to pose a major risk to global health.
