Diarrhea

Diarrhea is an increase in the frequency, volume, and liquidity of a person's stools. It is a common symptom of gastrointestinal diseases or disorders and can be caused by a variety of conditions, such as infection, a reaction to a medication, or an underlying illness. Diarrhea can lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and nutrient deficiencies and, if left untreated, can be life-threatening. Treatments for diarrhea depend on its cause and can range from dietary changes and medications to more serious medical interventions. Diarrhea can have serious implications for individuals and populations, and is a major public health problem, especially in developing countries.
