Cholangitis

Cholangitis is an inflammation of the bile ducts and is associated with the presence of bile stones. It can lead to a decrease in the flow of bile and can even cause obstruction of the ducts. If left untreated, it can cause various complications such as intrahepatic cholestasis, jaundice, and even liver failure. Cholangitis is usually treated with antibiotics and surgery, depending on the severity of the inflammation. Early detection and treatment is important to avoid any further complications. Cholangitis is an important condition to be aware of as its symptoms may not be easily noticeable.
