Antiviral Monotherapy

Antiviral monotherapy is a type of clinical treatment that uses one single type of antiviral drug to treat a viral infection. It is an important tool in helping to control the spread of viral diseases and assists in reducing the emergence of drug-resistant viruses. Antiviral monotherapy may be used in the treatment of viral infections such as influenza, genital herpes, hepatitis B, and HIV, and is often part of a comprehensive antiviral therapy plan. The effectiveness of antiviral monotherapy depends on several factors, such as the type of virus and its resistance to the chosen medication. In some cases, monotherapy can provide sustained levels of protection and reduce the risk of further spread.
