Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. People with schizophrenia may experience delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking, and difficulty concentrating. The symptoms of this disorder can significantly impair a person's ability to work, go to school, or lead a normal social life. With proper treatment, however, it is possible to manage the symptoms of schizophrenia and lead a productive life. Treatments and therapies for schizophrenia often include antipsychotic medications, psychotherapy, supportive therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, vocational rehabilitation, and other supportive services.
