Kidney Disease
Kidney disease is a condition in which the kidneys are damaged and unable to effectively filter out waste products from the body. It can be caused by various factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes and other medical conditions. Kidney disease increases the risk of cardiovascular and other diseases, and can lead to kidney failure, where dialysis or a kidney transplant is required to keep a person alive. Early detection and treatment of kidney disease can improve long-term health and quality of life. Treatment can slow or stop the progression of the kidney disease, reduce complications, and help maintain normal or near normal kidney function.
