Electrolytes
Electrolytes are special molecules which are found in the human body and have the unique property of being able to conduct electrical energy. They play a vital role in maintaining our body's fluid balance, allowing for the proper functioning of cells and for electrical signals to be sent between the brain and the muscles. At the same time, electrolytes are important for proper kidney and heart function. Low levels of electrolytes can cause a variety of disorders such as dehydration, muscle weakness, and confusion. Electrolytes can be obtained through foods or supplements and are important for proper physical function and health.
