Chronic Myeloid Leukemia
Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. It is caused by the abnormal growth of white blood cells in the bone marrow which can lead to anemia, fatigue, bleeding, and weakened immunity. CML is treatable with medication and, in some cases, stem cell transplants. The importance of early diagnosis is paramount as CML can quickly progress if left unchecked. Early treatment can improve the chances of survival and reduce the need for more invasive treatment options.
