Chronic Disease
Chronic disease is a long-term health condition that requires ongoing medical attention and treatment. It is a major cause of death and disability, and is a major public health issue. Chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes are the leading causes of death and disability in developed countries and are on the rise in developing countries too. Effective management of chronic diseases can lead to improved quality of life, reduce the need for medical interventions, and decrease the burden of medical care. Chronic diseases can be managed through preventive measures such as healthy lifestyle choices and behavior; medical interventions like medications, surgeries, and therapies; and self-care strategies such as diet modifications, exercise, and stress management.
