Asthma
Asthma is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterized by recurrent episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing. It affects people of all ages but is most common in children. Asthma can have a significant impact on quality of life, but luckily, it can be managed through regular monitoring and treatment. Proper management involves long-term control with inhaled corticosteroids and other anti-inflammatory medications, as well as quick-relief medicines such as bronchodilators for symptom relief during an attack. Early diagnosis, followed by ongoing monitoring, helps ensure the best outcome for people living with asthma.
