Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy is a type of medical treatment that uses the body's own natural immune system to fight disease. It harnesses the body's own powerful defenses—including white blood cells, antibodies, and other immune system components—to prevent and treat cancer, infections, and other diseases. Immunotherapy is an important treatment option for many patients because it can be used to target specific diseases, thus helping to reduce the risk of side effects associated with other treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation. Immunotherapy can also be used to increase the effectiveness of existing treatments, helping to keep patients healthy and disease-free for longer.
