Anal Dysplasia
Anal dysplasia is a condition that involves abnormal changes in the cells of the anal canal. It can cause discomfort, bleeding and even cancer if left untreated. Anal dysplasia is also known as anal intraepithelial neoplasia or AIN. Treatment of anal dysplasia usually involves removal of any abnormal cells, either through surgery or laser treatment. Regular screening is important to diagnose and manage the condition and thus to reduce the risk of developing cancer in the future. Anal dysplasia is most common in HIV-positive people and in people who engage in anal intercourse.
