Psycholinguistics
Psycholinguistics is the scientific study of the mental processes involved when humans produce and comprehend spoken and written language. It combines the disciplines of psychology, linguistics, and cognitive science to explore how we mentally process language, how language is represented in the brain, and how our knowledge of language affects our understanding of the world. Psycholinguistics has a wide range of practical applications, including teaching language to children and adults, developing artificial intelligence systems that can understand language, and assisting in research into language impairments. It helps us to better understand how we interact with language and how language can be used to our advantage.
