Child Autism
Child Autism, otherwise known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impairments in social interaction, communication, and restrictive or repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. It is estimated to affect 1 in 59 children in the United States. Early diagnosis and intervention are essential to improving outcomes for children with ASD. Treatment for individuals with Autism varies greatly depending on the specific needs of the individual, and may include Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, sensory integration therapy, and social skills training. Early intervention is key for individuals with Autism, as it can help improve functioning and outcome. With the proper treatment, individuals with Autism can learn important skills, which can lead to better communication, social interactions, and overall quality of life.
