Behavioral Medicine
Behavioral medicine is an interdisciplinary field that applies science and techniques from psychology, health education, medicine, and other health sciences to the prevention and management of physical and mental health problems. It seeks to improve health outcomes by understanding the relationships between health and behavior, and improving individual and societal health-related behaviors. Behavioral medicine is increasingly being adopted in clinical settings, as a way to reduce medical costs, improve quality of care, and improve patient outcomes. It can also be used as an effective tool in public health initiatives, where behavior-related health problems are targeted.
