Prevention of Hiv
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that weakens the human immune system, making it difficult for the body to fight off diseases and infections. HIV can be prevented through a variety of measures, including practicing safe sex, avoiding sharing needles, and getting regular testing. Prevention of HIV is critical in order to reduce the spread of the virus and decrease its prevalence in affected communities. Through the use of antiretroviral medication, healthcare providers can treat those living with HIV, minimizing their symptoms and potentially reducing the likelihood of transmission to others. Additionally, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) can be taken by those at high risk of infection, greatly decreasing the chance of becoming infected if exposed to the virus. Prevention of HIV is key to stopping its spread and ensuring the wellbeing of those affected and their communities.
