HIV-1 genetics and immunology.
- I have been working on HIV-1 genetics in relation to pathogenesis and infection to make protective epitopes using a wide range of tools including sequence based profiles, phylogenetic and recombination analysis, siRNA based targeting and structural biology of viral proteins.
- In parallel, i have worked on functional implications of viral genes based on natural substitutions exhibited by virus.
- My long term goal is to understand the role of viral and host genetics on HIV-1 biology with respect to progression and to develop the effective therapeutics against HIV/AIDS.
