Hiv Vaccines
HIV vaccines are a form of preventative medication that can help prevent individuals from contracting the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). These vaccines work by either introducing fragments of the virus into the body to stimulate the production of antibodies, or by modifying a harmless virus to contain a gene of the HIV virus. By providing the body with either parts of the virus or with a modified version of the virus, it is able to develop an immune response to the real virus without the risk of causing an infection. This has potential to significantly reduce the incidence of HIV infection worldwide and therefore can lead to a dramatic reduction in the number of people with the virus. In addition, this could lead to a decrease in HIV-related deaths and a better quality of life for those suffering from the virus.
