Hiv Denialism
HIV denialism is a set of views and beliefs that deny the existence and/or seriousness of HIV/AIDS. It is based on the false belief that the HIV virus does not cause AIDS, and therefore does not require any kind of treatment or prevention. This belief is unfounded and unsupported by scientific evidence, and is dangerous to public health. HIV denialism has been linked to a decline in HIV testing and treatment in some areas, increasing the spread of HIV and mortality related to HIV/AIDS. HIV denialism is also linked to stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS. It is important that HIV denialism be recognized and addressed, as it is a major public health concern.
