Rehabilitation Robotics

Rehabilitation Robotics is an area of engineering research focused on improving the physical recovery of those affected by debilitating conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, and other physical impairments. Through the use of robots and other robotic technology, Rehabilitation Robotics seeks to offer advanced rehabilitation programs tailored to specific conditions and to enable patients to engage in more effective physical therapy interventions. In particular, robotic systems allow for more precise and consistent delivery of physical therapy exercises as well as providing feedback and real-time monitoring of the patient's progress. Additionally, robotic systems can help reduce fatigue and provide motivation for the patient, making them more likely to follow through with rehabilitation exercises. The potential for Rehabilitation Robotics to improve quality of life for individuals affected by debilitating conditions is significant.
