Telephone Triage Nursing

Telephone triage nursing is an important role in healthcare. It involves providing advice, counsel and instruction to patients over the phone, helping them to make informed decisions about their health. Telephone triage nurses assess patient needs and provide information and instruction on a range of health topics, such as how to care for minor injuries, when to seek medical attention and what medications to take. The aim of this service is to improve the efficiency of care while helping to reduce costs. By providing nurses with the necessary skills to triage patients over the phone, it also helps to reduce wait times and improve overall healthcare access.
