Surgical Nursing
Surgical Nursing is a specialty branch of nursing that focuses on providing specialized care to individuals before, during, and after surgery. It involves providing pre-operative education, understanding the patient's condition and risk factors, formulating nursing strategies according to patient needs, and using appropriate techniques to ensure optimum patient outcomes. Surgical nursing also requires the ability to assess, diagnose, and provide efficient patient care during surgery, as well as post-operative care. Surgical nurses play a key role in ensuring patient safety by monitoring vital signs and other parameters, providing comfort and pain relief, and providing emotional support to patients and their families before, during and after surgery. As healthcare advances reach new heights, the need for specialized care provided by surgical nurses is expected to grow.
