School Nursing
School nursing is an important field of healthcare that provides services to students that allow them to succeed in their academic, physical and mental goals. School nurses work in partnership with families, faculty, staff and community members to promote and maintain healthy students in safe and supportive schools. School nurses provide preventative health assessments, vaccination programs, health education and counseling, and assessment and management of acute and chronic health conditions. They are also essential in promoting a healthy school environment and in recognizing and responding to mental health issues, including suicide prevention. School nurses strive to ensure that all students have access to the health services and resources they need to be successful and reach their full potential.
