Radiology Nursing

Radiology Nursing is a specialized area of nursing which involves the safe administration of diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Radiology nurses are trained in anatomy and physiology, radiation physics, infection control, radiation safety, equipment maintenance and operation, and image interpretation. They play a critical role in patient care by providing both technical and psychological support to patients undergoing imaging and radiation procedures. As a result, radiology nurses are essential members of the multidisciplinary team and are vital in helping ensure the accuracy of medical images, minimizing radiation doses to patients, and maximizing patient safety. Radiology nurses also assist with the research, teaching, and training of other healthcare professionals.
